أولا، أنا الصحفي ياسر عدوان، I'm Yasser Adwan, من مدينة رفح جنوب قطاع غزة. a journalist from Rafah City, south of the Gaza Strip.

خلينا نحكي عن الزميل الصحفي سعيد الطويل الله يرحمه. Let's talk about my colleague, the journalist Saeed al-Taweel, may God have mercy on him. الزميل الصحفي سعيد الطويل، هو صحفي من مدينة رفح جنوب قطاع غزة. Saeed Tawil was a journalist from Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. ويعمل كمدير لوكالة الخامسة للأنباء. He was the editor-in-chief of the Al-Khamisa News Network. طبعا عملت كمتطوع لدى وكالة الخامسة للأنباء لمدة ستة شهور. I was a volunteer there for six months. كان مديري الأستاذ الصحفي القدير، الشهيد سعيد الطويل. My supervisor was the esteemed journalist, the martyr Saeed al-Tawil. أستاذ سعيد الطويل كان من أبرز الإنسانيات. Mr. Saeed al-Tawil was one of the most prominent humanitarians. وكان يساعد الطلاب اللي بحاجة مثلا لدراسة الجامعة، He would help university students who needed support with their studies بيساعد الناس المحتاجة، اللي هي بحاجة مثلا. and he was always there for people in need. قبل الحرب طبعا بحكي. I'm talking about before the war, of course. بحاجة للناس المحتاجة، بحاجة لفلوس أو بحاجة لإيجار منزل. If someone needed money or help paying their rent, بساعد الناس الفقيرة، طبعا عن طريق صفحته الشخصية، لانه هو صحفي معروف ومشهور. he would assist them using his personal social media, given he was a well-known journalist. كان بأخبار على الريق. He wrote for Akhbar Ala Al Reek, a daily news column. كان مشهور ويكتب أخبار فكاهية He was known for writing satire, أو أخبار اليوم أو أخبار الأسبوع بطريقة فكاهية على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي. presenting the day's or the week's events in a funny way on social media.

طبعا كان طموحه انه يصير دكتور، ويخلص دكتوراه من الجامعة يعني. He wanted to do a Ph.D. and become a professor. لكن هو حصل على ماجستير قبل الحرب بفترة قليلة، حصل على ماجستير في تخصص الإعلام. Shortly before the war, he completed his master's degree in Media Studies. طبعا كان يحب الطلعات مع زملائه، كان يحب الطلعات مع أصدقائه الصحفيين. He loved hanging out with his colleagues and fellow journalists. كان يحب أيضا برضه هو بيحب الكتابات. He also loved to write. بكتب كثير على صفحته. He wrote quite often on his social media page. كتاباته فيها نوع من الفكاهة، نوعا من المزاح، His writing was known for being witty and lighthearted, قريبة من الناس، عامة للناس. so it resonated with ordinary people. كان يحب أيضا يحضر كرة، كان يشجع نادي خدمات رفح. He was also a football fan and supported Khadamat Rafah. كان طشات أكثرها مع أصحابه اللي هم زملائه الصحفيين. He often hung out with his friends who were also fellow journalists. حتى كان دائما يطلع معهم، ينزل معهم. He was always going out with them, accompanying them on assignments.

كان، بالنسبة لعائلته وأولاده، كان يحب يشارك صور عائلته وأولاده بالمناسبات. He loved sharing photos of his wife and children, posting about family celebrations and special occasions. كان يحب يبينهم، سواء في موسم المدارس أو موسم الأعياد. He loved sharing photos of his family, whether it was at the start of the school year or during the holidays. كان ينزل صور أولاده وبناته. He would post pictures of his sons and daughters. كان يقول مثلا عيدكم مبارك على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، He'd wish people Eid Mubarak on social media, يقول عيدكم مبارك مع مثلا ابنه الكبير رضوان، أو بنته أو حتى ابنه. alongside photos with his eldest son Radwan or with his other children. كان يحكي ويعمل ويسوي الحاجات هذه. He loved sharing those things.

عن الجانب المهني، هو صحفي، كاتب صحفي أيضا، ومدير تحرير وكالة الخامسة للأنباء. He was a journalist, a writer, and the editor-in-chief of Al-Khamsa News Network. طبعا عن حياته المهنية، هو صحفي قدير متمرس بالمهنة، له وزنه وما شاء الله عليه. He was a highly respected, experienced journalist with a strong reputation in the field. كان له بصمة في الميدان. He left a mark on the field. رغم انه كان بعض أخباره بالعامية وقريبة من الجمهور، Although some of his reporting and commentary was written in colloquial Arabic and in a style that was accessible to the general public, لكن كان له بصمة وكانت الناس بتعرفه. he still made his mark on the profession and was recognized by people. كان أيضا قريب من الناس بشكل كبير جدا. He was dear to people's hearts. ومهنة الصحفية او مهامه أو مهنته بالضبط وتحديدا الجانب المهني، He was energetic and deeply committed to his work, كان نشيط جدا في عمله ومادة عمله على أسرع وأفضل وقت وأفضل جهود. always striving to produce his reporting as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest quality.

كان يشتغل وكان شغله بغزة. His work was based in Gaza. كان يطلع من الجنوب يداوم في غزة. Although he lived in the south, he traveled to Gaza City every day for work, كان مكتبه في غزة. The agency's office was in Gaza [City]. هو نظر على نفسه في الحرب هذه When this war began, أن يضل في غزة كما كل حرب، يعني هو، الحروب اللي فاتت he viewed it the same way he had previous wars: كان يضل في غزة ويغطي من غزة، من مكتب الوكالة اللي هو يتبعلها، He believed he should remain in Gaza, in his office, يغطي من المكتب ويضل في غزة. and report from there. لكن شاءت الظروف، شاءت الأقدار. But circumstances and fate had other plans. انه تم تبليغ برج، بدهم يقصفوا برج حجي، أمامهم، The journalists received a warning that Hajji Tower opposite them طبعا بلغوهم انه انزلوا حيتم قصف البرج اللي هو مقابلكم. was about to be bombed. فالصحفيين، بعض الصحفيين، نزلوا وبعضهم لا. Some journalists went out to report, while others did not. فمن ضمنهم نزل زميلنا زياد طويل حتى يوثق استهداف البرج هو تقريبا حجة. Among those who went was our colleague Ziad Tawil, to document and broadcast the moment the tower was struck.

هذا في رابع يوم الحرب، أو رابع يوم حرب طوفان الأقصى، This was the fourth day after Al-Aqsa Flood, في رابع يوم تقريبا الساعة ١٠ أو ١١ مساء تقريبا. around 10 or 11 in the evening. طبعا توجه هو وزميله هشام النواجحة ومحمد صبح لتوثيق ونقل لحظة استهداف برج حجي تقريبا. He went with his colleague Hisham al-Nawajha and Mohammed Sobh to document the airstrike on the tower. وتم استهداف البرج الذي هم واقفين عنده، However, instead of striking only the tower they had been sent to cover, يعني البرج اللي هم بيصورا من عنده تم استهدافه بشكل مباشر. the building where the journalists were standing and filming was itself directly hit. ما أدى إلى إصابة سعيد. Saeed was critically wounded. حتى ما إن وصل المستشفى استشهد على الفور طبعا، He was martyred immediately— أو استشهد في مكانه قبل أن ينقلوه إلى المستشفى. either before reaching the hospital or soon after he arrived. طبعا إصابته كانت خطيرة واستشهد على الفور. His injuries were fatal. طبعا أيضا زميله محمد صبح إصابته كانت خطيرة وعلى الفور استشهد. Their colleague Mohammed Sobh was also critically wounded and was martyred almost immediately. زميلنا هشام النواجحة الله يرحمه كانت إصابته خطيرة. Hisham al-Nawajha, may God have mercy on him, was also critically injured. لكن وصل المستشفى بعد مدة أو فترة من الوقت، يعني لا يتجاوز الساعة استشهد أيضا. He reached the hospital, but less than an hour later, he too succumbed to his injuries and was martyred.

كان سعيد طويل صحفي مميز، له بصمة في الميدان. Saeed al-Tawil was an exceptional journalist who left a lasting mark on the profession. محبوب بين الناس، He was beloved by the people— خلوق، محترم، قريب من الناس، ساعد الناس. kind, respectful, generous, and deeply connected to his community. مؤد لعمله و مخلص لمهنته. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to his work and was committed to journalism. له بصمته في مدينة رفح، في كل قطاع غزة. His impact was felt not only in Rafah but throughout the entire Gaza Strip. كان صحفي خلوق معطاء صراحة. He was, truly, a noble, giving journalist whose legacy endures.

طيب خلينا نحكي عن هشام. Let's talk about Hisham. أول شيء، هشام زميل صحفي وعزيز على القلب. Hisham was a dear and beloved colleague, وهو جاري أصلا وجار أهلي قبل ما يكون زميلي He was also my neighbor and my parents' neighbor. هشام محمد النواجحة من مدينة رفح جنوب قطاع غزة، من حي تل السلطان. Hisham Mohammed al-Nawajha is from the neighborhood of Tel al-Sultan in Rafah. طبعا للعلم، أنا مشرف في قناة هشام النواجحة على قناة تليجرام حتى اللحظة، By the way, I'm still the administrator of Hisham's Telegram channel to this day. وأنا المشرف الوحيد اللي كنت معه خلال الحرب المستمرة على قطاع غزة. I was the only other admin of his channel during this ongoing genocide. On his channel, I'm his only admin.

خلينا نحكي عن هشام وحياة هشام I want to speak about Hisham and his life. هشام، أول شيء، شخص طيب وخدوم جدا جدا جدا، لأبعد الحدود Hisham is first and foremost the kindest person, a very, very, very generous person. محترم خلوق وخدوم. Respectful, well-mannered, and generous. كان يساعدني في عمل الصحفي. He would help me out with my work. وكنت باخذ منه نصائح: I always sought his advice: كيف أشتغل؟ كيف أصور؟ كيف أعمل؟ كيف أصور قصص، كيف أعبر عن القصة؟ How do I do this? How do I take this photo, document this story? كان يعطيني مقترحات وحاجات كثيرة في عملي الصحفي وفي حياتي الصحفية. He was constantly giving me advice, whether about work or my personal life. ب النسبة لهشام، بالنسبة عن مهنته وعن شغله، كان ماشاءالله عليه، جدع مميز، اله بصمة في الميدان. Professionally, Hisham was, Mashallah, a special journalist who left his mark on the field. محبوب. He was loved. كان تقريبا يعمل في وكالة خبر He was, more or less, working at a news agency. لا أعلم تحديدا ما ييعمل في وكالة خبر. I am not really sure what he did there/what his role was. لكن أنا بعرف أنه كان يعمل لوكالة خبر في وكالة خبر الفلسطينية، I know that he worked for the Palestinian News Agency, فكان هو مش عارف كاتب أو محرر، لكن معنديش تفاصيل إش كان he was a writer or an editor, I’m not sure. كان يعمل في وكالة خبر الفلسطينية، فكان محبوبا بين الناس، مقبول. He worked for the Palestinian News Agency, he was loved among the people. كانوا يعني الشباب بيدلعوا أشقر عشانه أشقراني The guys used to nickname him al-ash’ar (blondie) because he was blonde. بالنسبة كان يحب يطش، كان يحب يطلع، He loved to hang out, to go out with his friends, كان بيحب يطلع على أنس قاطرجي في رفح، مطعم انس قاطرجي he liked to go to Anas Qaterji’s restaurant in Rafah. كان يروح عليه هو وصاحبه، كان يحب عليه يروح عليه دائما. He used to go there with his friends. برضه كان يحب أنس قاطرجي اللي هو مطعم شاورما عنا في رفح. He loved Anas Qaterji, which is a shawarma place here in Rafah. كان يحب يروح عليه دائما، هو صاحبه وكان يشوفه دائما He was his friend and he loved going there often. كان يحب يطش على نابلسية الشيخ هيثم. He also used to like to go to Nabulsiet Al Sheikh Haitham. وطبعا هو برضه، عندنا في رفح في منطقة الكراج الشرقي، كان يحب عليا يروح عليا دائما، يطش عليا And of course he loved to go to Al Karaj Al Sharqi (Eastern Park) which is also here in Rafah. أما في غزة، فشغله بطبيعة شغله في غزة، كان يروح على شاورما فهد The nature of his work brings him to Gaza, he used to go to Shawerma Fahed, ويحب يقعد بالمهندس، اللي هو تاع كوفي المهندس في غزة. and loved to sit at Mohandes Cafe in Gaza. طبعا بالنسبة لهشام كان يحكي لي دائما As for Hisham, he used to always tell me, «انت ما شاء الله عنك، اتعب على نفسك وحتصل وحتعمل و حتسوي». “Mashallah, work hard on yourself and you will arrive where you are headed and achieve what you aspire to.”

كان محبوبا، كان داعم الي بشكل كبير. He was beloved, and supportive in huge ways. موقف معين أتذكره معه، كان يمازحني، كان يطلع معي. I remember specific moments with him, he used to tease me and hang out with me. كان أوقات، يعني مرة واحدة جلست ببيته وانبسطنا أنا وهو We hung out at his house once and we had so much fun the two of us. وعادي، يعني، عدد أولاده اللي هو ولد وبنت، ولد وبنت. He has two children, a boy and a girl. بالنسبة لأولاده عنده ولد وبنت توأم، They are twins, وكان عمرهم تقريبا أربع سنوات، almost 4 years old now. لما استشهد أبوهم كان أعمارهم سنتين. They were two years old when their father passed away. أقرب حد لقلبه فيهم البنت. His daughter was the dearest to his heart. البنت عشانها هادئة كانت قريبة لقلبه. She is very calm, and she was very close to him. علاقته بأهله وأبوه وأمه، كانت علاقته قوية His relationship to his family, بجميع الناس في كل رفح، في كل أصحابه، وفي كل صلة وفي كل أحبابه. as to everyone he knew in Rafah, was very strong. كان محبوبا مقبولا، له كاريزما. He was loved and amiable, and had charisma.

هو كان مصور جدع، و مميز جدا، He was a really good photographer, really talented وكان مهني ومخلص لعمله. He was professional and dedicated to his work وكان من الناس اللي تعبت ووثقت وشاركت في أكثر من حرب، He was one of the people who tired, and documented most of the war, سواء بالتغطية الصحفية أو بنقل الأحداث أول بأول على الساحة الفلسطينية whether through journalistic coverage or broadcasting and breaking events on the ground, أو على الساحة العربية أيضا. and on the Arab stage as well. كان أيضا مقبول بين أخواننا المصريين. He was also loved by our Egyptian brothers. أخواننا المصريين كانوا يحبوه، يتابعوا صفحته. They loved him and followed his account.

خلينا نحكي عن مهنته وحياته الصحفية، أو كيف استشهد بالتفصيل. Let's speak of his professional life, his journalism life and how he was martyred. برضه كان برفقة الزميل هشام سعيد الطويل لما قال، He was with his colleague Saeed Al Taweel لما هدد الجيش بقصف برج حجي في غزة فهدد الجيش بقصف البرج when the army threatened to bomb Hajji Tower in Gaza فهشام نزل يعني في البرج على أساس يوثق استهداف برج حجي، Hisham went down to the Tower so as to document its targeting, فالجيش استهدف البرج اللي كان فيه اللي كانوا هم تحته بصور ومن تحته. but the army targeted the tower from which they were stationed. فتم إصابة هشام. Hisham was injured. وحسب المعلومات، وحسب ما عرفنا، انه تم استشهاده بعد ٦ ساعات، أو بعد ساعة من إصابته. According to information we received, he was martyred an hour after his targeting. يعني بمجرد أن وصل المستشفى Meaning, as soon as he arrived at the hospital, قعد فترة، أو يعني دقائق معدودة، في العناية المكثفة، بعدها استشهد على الفور. he was there for a few minutes in ICU and then passed away immediately.

طبعا صلينا عليه في مدينة رفح، في جامع سعد. We prayed for him in Rafah in Sa’ad Mosque كانت جنازته مليانة، كان الناس بتحبه. His funeral was full; people loved him. كان حتى النور يشع من وجهه أثناء ما صلينا عليه. Light was shining from his face when we prayed over him. علاقته بأهله كانت قوية جدا. His relationship to his family was very strong. أبوه كان صاحب وكان قريب لقلبه جدا. His father was his friend and very dear to his heart. كان ريحان القلب هو ابن راكان، تفاحة العين. Hisham was like the sweet basil of the heart, son of Rakan, the apple of the eye. هو صاحب أبوه، وعلاقته قوية جدا في أبوه. He was his father’s friend and their relationship was very strong عن حياته المهنية حكينا انه كان مخلص لعمله، مؤدي لمهنته. In terms of his professional life, like I said, he was dedicated. كان دائما يقدم لنا نصائح. He always gave us advice. كنت استشيره بكثير شغلات يفيدني. I used to go to him for advice and he was always very helpful. كان يحب يشوفني اني اصور، أتميز في عملي، أعمل أسوي... He loved seeing me do my photography and excelling in my work… كان على تواصل معي ويقدم نصائح. We were always in contact and always offering advice ولما يشوف شيء مني حلو مثلا، يقول لي Whenever he saw my work he would tell me «هذا انشره على قناتي، انشره على منصاتي، انشره على صفحتي. “let me post it on my page and on my platform. مميز ما شاء الله عنك. طب أعمل هذا صح وهذا غلط.» You are very special, Mashallah. Do this, it’s better; don’t do that.” كان قريب قريب من القلب وما شاء الله عليه. He was very lovable, Mashallah. كان مؤدي للمهنة بشكل كامل. He fully performed the duties of his profession. وارتقى يعني في رابع يوم الحرب، في الساعة تقريبا ١١ مساء. He was martyred on the fourth day of the war around 11 PM.
